What to Expect During Your Visit

We understand that recovery can feel vulnerable — especially in the first few days post-surgery. Our caregivers are trained to support you with compassion, professionalism, and discretion every step of the way.

Here’s what a typical 4-hour Essential Comfort visit looks like:

Arrival & Check-In

  • Your caregiver arrives on time and introduces themselves professionally.

  • They review your recovery space and check in with you (and your nurse or loved one, if applicable).

  • If needed, they’ll read over any care notes or surgeon’s post-op instructions.

Comfort & Hygiene Support

  • Assistance with freshening up: toileting, gentle bathing or wipe-down, oral care.

  • Help changing into fresh garments and setting up your bed or rest area.

  • Repositioning and comfort setup to support circulation and reduce discomfort.

Meal & Hydration Assistance

  • Preparation of light, recovery-friendly meals/snacks using your ingredients.

  • Support with fluids and reminders to stay hydrated.

  • Ensuring you’re seated or reclined safely and comfortably during meals.

Light Housekeeping

  • Trash removal, linen changes, light tidying of your immediate space.

  • Organizing recovery supplies, garments, or medications (without administering).

  • Adjusting lighting, temperature, or music to create a calm environment.

Emotional Support & Wellness Monitoring

  • Companionship and conversation if desired — or quiet, respectful presence.

  • Gentle observations for signs of discomfort or needs (not medical care).

  • Communication or notes left for your nurse, surgeon, or loved one if needed.

Closing & Wrap-Up

  • Final check-in to ensure you're comfortable and set up for rest.

  • A quick summary of care activities and updates for your care team if requested.

  • Departure with respect for your privacy, dignity, and personal space.
